Cavalcade and Morab Bike Racks

Do these racks have a built-in cable locking system?

No, you can purchase one locally or from us, see our accessories page.

Can the rack be mounted to any hard surface?

Yes it can! An optional mounting kit is available that connects mounting "feet" to the rack. The feet have two holes per feet on each side that allow .25" bolts to mount the rack to any surface you can drill a hole through. Great for trailers!

Does the rack adjust for different tire widths?

Yes it does! The arms can adjust for .75 to 2.80 inch wide tires

Duopod, Stringer, Belgian, and Thorax Bike Racks

The 2-Bike Extension (1-1051) can be added to which bike racks?

The 2-Bike Extension requires a 2 inch receiver; therefore you can add it to the Duopod, Stringer or the Belgian.

Do these racks have the ability to fold upward so I can leave it on my vehicle and still park in my garage?

It does! One touch of a button and you are on your way, whether it's folding up to park in your garage or folding down to load the bikes for a quick ride! We still have the "Duopod" for those who want the greatest possible value and the least weight and no folding ability. But for those who like the idea of keeping the rack on, adding the folding option is just for you!

Why do these bike racks use simple Velcro straps instead of "tech-ier" ratchets and buckles?

Velcro straps are easier and more intuitive to use, are easier to replace and more reliable. Everyone knows how to use a Velcro strap.  The Velcro is sewn on to strong cable straps and are quite durable.

Is there a way to remove the wobble in the hitch when the bike rack is installed?

Yes. There is an optional anti-sway spring nut and bolt system available for both 2" and 1.25" hitch receivers.  It removes wobble in the hitch by tightening the rack up to the side of the hitch.  This is not a locking accessory, but we do have locking hitch pins available on the accessory page

Do these racks have a built-in cable locking system?

Sorry they do not.  These racks have been designed to enable you to easily remove and install. It's light and easy to handle, so that you can store it inside.

We understand there are times when it becomes necessary to have some security for the rack and your bike(s). We suggest cable lock(s) for the bike(s). The cables can be routed through the bike's wheels and frames and then through the safety chain loops of the vehicles hitch. If the cables are also wrapped around the rack, additional security would be provided to the rack itself.

If you additionally want to secure the rack to the car, there are several options. We suggest a locking hitch pin such as the Silent Hitch Pin we offer on our accessories page.

Does the rack adjust for different tire widths?

No adjustment is necessary! The wheel trays will accommodate all tire widths.

Really, these racks can hold any size of bike?

We have loaded almost all sizes of bikes. We have loaded 12", 20", and 24" kids bikes as well as 26", 29" mountain bikes and road bikes. One cool thing about these bike racks we have been able to load any combination of the above bikes. This is due to the “AutoNesting” feature that allows the bikes to be moved forward and back. The small (12" and 20") bikes are limited on how much forward and back movement can be achieved because of their small size.

We have also loaded short and med wheel base recumbent bikes.  We offer a tray extension that will add 8" of length to the wheel tray to help accommodate many types of recumbent bikes up to approximately 69" wheelbase. Depending on the wheelbase length, you may need 1 or 2 tray extensions. If you have any question please Contact Us and we will make sure you have what you need.
