Fixing something that isn't broken can be a bad decision, but we did. The Roadrunner is now made out of aluminum. Aluminum is remarkable for its low density (light weight) and its ability to resist corrosion. Before carbon fiber bikes, aluminum was the material of choice. Can you say light weight, strong, corrosion resistant and darn good looking.
We did not change any of the wonderful features of the Roadrunner. The no wobble hitch insert, anti-sway stabilizers to keep the bikes from swing during transit, and the durable rubber bike cradles that make for easier loading and unloading. The arm drops to make parking easier if you plan to leave the rack on your vehicle. Plus the rack tilts down for easy access to the trunk or cargo area.
The Aluminum Roadrunner comes in two rack sizes, three bike and a four bike. The name Roadrunner has been used for a car, a magazine, a sports team, and an R&B band to name a few. But none of them can say they are made of aluminum. You want more than just a way to transport your bike, you want that bike safe and secure during transit. So leave your worries at home and get out and ride with the aluminum Roadrunner.
